New Micro-lots

Lately we have been featuring select micro-lots from a number of Central American  countries. Many people have asked " Just what is a Micro-lot?". Micro-lots are limited selections picked from the area of a plantation that produces the best crop year after year. The beans grown in these areas are kept apart from the rest of the crop for grading and sold as micro-lot. Micro-lots can be a few as 10 or 15 bags or as many as 100 and bring a better price at market for the farmers on the specialty coffee market. The result is better grades of coffee for the consumer and encouragement for the farmers to do more to improve the overall crop.
At  U-Roast-Em we have always offered the best coffees we could find and with  micro-lots we can offer the best of the best.

New Arrival- Cup Of Excellence

Cup Of Excellence 2007 Winner-Colombian

From the Meta region of Colombia, this Cup of Excellence 2007 winning coffee was grown my Jorge Rincon on his farm "Llano Grande". 70% Catura and 30% Typica variety beans processed by traditional wet milling. Jorge makes a conscious effort to preserve the native forest on his farm and protects the natural sources of fresh water. He uses all the organic wastes from the depulping process to produce fertilizer for his crops.

Superb cup, with an international jury score of 91.09! Jury members found this cup to exhibit a creamy body with floral and chocolate hints. Caramelly and naturally sweet with additional hints of vanilla, strawberry and melon. Great acidity and a winning finish.

We have a very limited amount of this bean. Please contact us if you would like to purchase larger amounts.
